Smart Accessory Management for Ducati CANbus Motorcycles

Simplify motorcycle accessory installation with the DENALI CANsmart GEN II Controller for Ducati DesertX and Multistrada motorcycles. Designed to integrate with the compatible Ducati CANbus electrical system, this plug-and-play controller helps manage auxiliary driving lights, horns, brake lights and other compatible electrical accessories through four independently configurable circuits.

The controller works with supported Ducati handlebar controls and the DENALI CANsmart Accessory Manager Software. Its GEN II design supports up to 10 amps of continuous power per circuit, with a maximum combined continuous load of 30 amps across the controller.

Customisable Accessory Functions

Auxiliary Lighting Control

Configure compatible auxiliary lights for high/low synchronisation, on/off operation and dimming. Additional settings include light modulation and cancellation of the corresponding auxiliary light when a turn signal is activated, where supported by the motorcycle and circuit configuration.

Brake Light and Safety Functions

The controller supports deceleration-activated Smart Brake technology and programmable auxiliary brake-light flash patterns when used with compatible equipment. Available functions depend on the connected accessory and the controller configuration.

Horn and Electrical Accessory Integration

Connect compatible aftermarket horns and configure supported auxiliary lights to respond when the horn is activated. The switched accessory circuit can also power compatible devices such as GPS units, phone chargers and heated riding gear, subject to the controller's output limits and wiring requirements.

Installation and Compatibility Notes

The controller is designed to simplify accessory wiring, but correct installation and configuration remain essential. Follow the manufacturer's installation instructions and ensure connected accessories remain within the controller's electrical limits.

Heated gear limitation: On the Ducati DesertX and Multistrada V4, heated gear cannot be controlled through the factory heated-grip controls because the required heated-grip information is not available through the CANbus system.

Multistrada V2 limitation: The Multistrada V2 and V2 S do not support using the original fog-light button to control the CANsmart auxiliary lights.

If you plan to connect two CANsmart controllers or another accessory requiring EURO 5 port access, the appropriate EURO 5 pass-through adapter may be required. Check the manufacturer's instructions for your configuration.

Professional installation is recommended if you are unfamiliar with motorcycle CANbus systems or electrical accessories. Test all connected lights, horn and brake-light functions before riding.
